Free Thanksgiving Feast Graphic
I have Thanksgiving on my mind as it’s not far away. I’d started planning for it in the summer. As I’ve aged, the holiday has become more and more dear to me. Along the way, life teaches us what’s truly important and that’s love, health, and the many simple blessings we receive each day. Every day, I try to remember my many reasons to be thankful.
So, tonight, I was working on a Thanksgiving graphics package, featuring vintage paper turkeys, no less, for ButterflyWebGraphics, when I came across this antique image on my hard drive. I’d scanned it in long ago. It’s a nice image, clean with great colors, uplifting through the gray of November, and so I decided to share it here.
It’s a postcard from the turn of the century. Originally, it had some nice text at the top– “Thanksgiving Day” in bronze Deco-looking letters. But long ago a lazy or dispassionate clerk at the post office stamped the front instead of the back–not that there wasn’t ample room there. It’s always upsetting to see this kind of damage to an otherwise perfectly good image, and I see it often. As the stamp lines go through the text, I decided to remove it.
I touched it up and now it’s ready for your talented hands. I hope you find a good use for it in your creative designs. Many blessings to you this Thanksgiving and all year through.
